TFL on Holiday

Thursday, July 18th, 2013

I’m SO sorry – I didn’t do a podcast last week, despite planning to. Scotland is having an unheard-of heatwave and it was too nice to sit indoors in a stuffy room behind a hot PC.

I had intended to put out a long show this week as the last before I went on holiday – but once again, the heat and getting prepared to go have meant that I’ve never managed to get it done.

So – I’m off on my holidays for two weeks now and there won’t be a show until August when I get back (and probably not immediately either as I have a Fringe show to see on my first Friday back).

I will return, so please bear with me. Have a lovely late summer and I’ll be back again soon 🙂

Show 277 – Coincidences?

Tuesday, June 18th, 2013

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

Who’d believe that it’s mid-summer? The weather’s so hit and miss that you’d be hard-pressed to believe that it wasn’t still March. Ho hum – that’s the UK summer for you. Never mind, at least with TFL you’re guaranteed that the music’s all hit and no miss, all year round.

Henke Wermelin & Nattskiftet – Dirt To The World

Seaweed Meadows – Ruin

Social Club – Slow Motion / Gamma Rays

The soundbed was ‘Origins’ by Solar Fields

Show 276 – A Capital Release

Friday, May 31st, 2013

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

Typical. A day off work, warm sunshine – and I decide to sweep my balcony before going to sit out and read a book in the fresh air. The problem was that I did my back in right before I managed to sit down with my Kindle, and my plans to podcast tonight were ruined. Still, I managed to sit down, though awkwardly, long enough to do a short show in order to publicise the free weekend streaming of the Capitals’ new album which is out on Monday. This also means that the show will go out tonight to allow you to listen all weekend & quite possibly rush to buy the album. Enjoy the show, the streamed album and your purchase when it’s released on Monday!

Tuesday, April 16th, 2013

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

Easter’s been & gone, I’m another year older, but the great music just keeps coming in to the Three From Leith inbox. Here’s hoping that this’ll be followed by some warmer weather that’ll just keep on coming too. In the meantime, as we pray to the weather gods we can all enjoy some English, Greek and Swedish artists & hope they help the message get through!

Show 273 – Braindead

Tuesday, March 19th, 2013

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

One of those recording days when everything just goes right out of my head – it’s a rambling TFL with a little more music than chat this week. The music all originates outside of the UK, although you’ll be hard-pressed to work out exactly where. See if you can though – it all adds to the fun.

Ms Henrik – Doing It For The Man

Anglia – Nothing I Can Do

Frida Selander – Forever On Your Team

Ummagma – BFD / Lama

Show 272 – Leaner, Not Meaner

Tuesday, February 26th, 2013

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

I’m a few pounds lighter and there are a few old names making a reappearance on the podcast. Lots of alt indie folk vibes abound this week, but thankfully there’s not a woolly Fisherman’s jumper in sight (and no-one’s sticking a finger in one ear and starting every song with a drawn-out “Oooooooooohhhhhhh….”). TFL – a lean, mean and modern scene!

The Ramisko Maki Maki Rocking Horse – Danger Danger

Ardentjohn – In The Morning

Bruise – Northern Line

The Ramisko Maki Maki Rocking Horse – Seas Air Do Chorra-Bhiod

Show 271- Bye AMP!

Tuesday, February 12th, 2013

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

After 8 years of podcasting as a member of AMP, I’ve decided to call time on my membership of the Association. It’s been fun, but it doesn’t feel relevant to me any more so it’s time to go it alone as a privateer podcaster! Fear not though – I don’t think you’ll notice any difference. The music will be just as amazing, and the blethering as bad as ever…

Daystar – Paralysing

GUMS! – New Year

Alaska Campus – Mon Reve / You, Me and The Sun
