Apologies for the recent series of disasters that have befallen the TFL host and the TFL computer and prevented the release of a proper show for the last two weeks. For the second time in under 6 months, the graphics card on my PC has died. This time the PC won’t boot up unless the dead card is removed, but even booted up it’s pretty useless when there’s no output to the monitor. I’m going to have to splash out on a new one as Dabs says the knackered card will be returned to the manufacturer for repair, which will take up to six weeks.

So once again dear listeners, TFL will have to take a week off as I’ll not be getting a new one for a few days so I have no PC to podcast with. This message is being composed on my ancient brick of a laptop, which has a 4Gb HDD and 128Mb RAM and is taking an age to do anything. Sadly, it’s so old it can’t handle the processing power required to run my podcasting software, and it doesn’t have the audio inputs either. I’m really (insert your swearword of choice here) annoyed as I have music stacking up and I’m suffering from podcasting withdrawal.

Keep your fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed that nothing else breaks down and I’ll be back with you next week. Now I’m off to check my bank balance to see what card I can afford….

Ugh. A cold again at recording time.
