And the heat goes on… you know it’s unusual when you wake up on a Saturday morning and the outside sensor is wirelesly beaming back the fact that it’s 21 degrees centigrade at 8am, whilst the indoor reading is showing that it’s touching 30 in the bedroom. This is almost too nice to be Scotland at the start of June. But hot it is, and so’s this week’s musical selection. Change of pace and mood this week as I get much more laid-back, as well as playing a musical genre that I don’t think I’ve ever played before as a main track. I mentioned ‘Steamboy’, which I have since found out was the most expensive anime film ever made at the time of its release, and I let slip that I used to be a cellist in my dim and distant past. Who’d’ve thunk it ?! (*** WARNING – there are a couple of swear-words in the Whisky Galore tracks, so this may not be work-safe ***)

Very saddened to hear of the demise this week of one of TFL’s long-standing friends and fave local bands. Who is it ? You’ll have to listen to find out. For the second time in under 6 months, the graphics card on my PC has died. This time the PC won’t boot up unless the dead card is removed, but even booted up it’s pretty useless when there’s no output to the monitor. I’m going to have to splash out on a new one as Dabs says the knackered card will be returned to the manufacturer for repair, which will take up to six weeks.

So once again dear listeners, TFL will have to take a week off as I’ll not be getting a new one for a few days so I have no PC to podcast with. This message is being composed on my ancient brick of a laptop, which has a 4Gb HDD and 128Mb RAM and is taking an age to do anything. Sadly, it’s so old it can’t handle the processing power required to run my podcasting software, and it doesn’t have the audio inputs either. I’m really (insert your swearword of choice here) annoyed as I have music stacking up and I’m suffering from podcasting withdrawal.

Keep your fingers, toes, arms and legs crossed that nothing else breaks down and I’ll be back with you next week. Now I’m off to check my bank balance to see what card I can afford….
