Show 208 – Purred Out

Tuesday, May 4th, 2010

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

Well, back after the sadness of saying cheerio forever to the cat. I’m a bit slow and down getting started, but I perk up by the end: must be the therapy provided by the fantastic music. Enjoy – and don’t forget to let the artists know if you’ve enjoyed hearing them on TFL.

No shows for two weeks

Monday, April 19th, 2010

I took the cat back to the vet last Friday (recording day), and the news was not good. Her breathing was shallow & laboured and she’d not put on any weight (despite double-dinners for two weeks). I persuaded the vet to give her another antibiotic shot and see her in another two weeks, despite him suspecting tumours on her lungs as the reason behind the coughing / breathing difficulties / sudden weight-loss. After that, I just wasn’t in the mood to do a podcast.

Sadly, she worsened over the weekend so I had to make the decision and took her in today to let her go. It wasn’t fair to let her suffer any longer.

October was almost 19, so she’d had a long and happy life & she’ll be greatly missed by Jasna and me.

Because of how I’m feeling at the moment, I don’t think I’ll be recording a show this coming week either.

See you all when I return.

To celebrate the launch of the special edition physical CD of their new album ( buy it here), Warren & Christa Belle from Hungry Lucy pop by this week to tell you about their favourite tracks from the album, and then we have some cracking new Scottish & English artists to TFL. Why not sway or dance around and lose some of that Easter Egg-stra poundage? 😉

Easter break

Tuesday, April 6th, 2010

I’ve been having an Easter break this week so the podcast is having another holiday. Back next week – don’t eat too many choccy eggs before then!

Show 206 – Three From Liverpool

Tuesday, March 30th, 2010

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

This week I seem to be sounding a little strange; perhaps I’m a little croaky and have a frog in my throat? Actually, it’s your guest host Graham Holland from the “It’s A Frog’s Life Acoustic Podcast” swapping shows with me as part of the AMP Great Easter Podswap. If you click on the link to Graham’s site, you may find me in unfamiliar surroundings on his lilypad in Liverpool doing an all-acoustic show. Enjoy the show – I certainly did and I’m sure you’ll agree that Graham made a fabulous honorary TFL host. Thanks, Graham!

Built On Tradition – ‘Let Me Be The One’

Will Kevans – ‘Dialling Tone’

Jon Hollins – ‘Come Tomorrow’

Show 205 – Let the Blethering Recommence!

Tuesday, March 23rd, 2010

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

Back after a two-week gap, it’s straight into great music from bands who’ve all made appearances on the podcast in the past. There’s a dedication to a listener & her family, blethering and one big omission – the fact that next week, the show will have a guest host as part of the AMP Great Easter Podswap. I’m just listening to his selections now – you’ll love them! More details next week in his shownotes 🙂

Monday, March 8th, 2010

Sorry folks – no show this week due to family commitments over the weekend.

See you next week!

** Edit – or sadly one this week either. Apologies for the late notification – I’ve been down South on business and forgot to post up a message for yesterday **

Show 204 – Novelty Island

Tuesday, March 2nd, 2010

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

It’s been a while since I’ve thrown a real curve-ball on the podcast, but this week I’ve done exactly that. Genres not usually played on Three From Leith have converged into one show – hopefully you’ll enjoy it! There’s also news of an interesting ‘swap’ coming your way this Easter. What is it? Listen and find out.

European Podcast Awards – drop me a vote if you want!

Monday, February 22nd, 2010

I’ve just had another email from the EPA organisers saying that I’ve been nominated again – whether this means that this is a new competition or still the one from last year, I’m not sure. However, if you felt like voting for me then you can do so here. It takes a second and there’s a ‘skip’ link on the page which asks you whether you want to sign up for the mailing list.

I’d really appreciate your support if you felt that the podcast was worth voting for 🙂

Thanks.
