Tuesday, March 29th, 2011

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

I must be getting old – as the turn of another arrives in less than 24hrs from the time you read this, I’m suffering like an old man with a sciatic back! OK, so I won’t be able to get up and dance around to this week’s artists, I’m still able to enjoy their fabulous music whilst I still have my hearing!

Show 230 – Flitting Complete!

Tuesday, March 8th, 2011

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

I’ve finally completed the migration of the entire TFL media archive from Libsyn to my own hosting, so you’ll notice that the familiar top’n’tailing of the show with Libsyn jingles has ended. Other than that, there’s no difference to the show and I’m still here to bring you the usual selection of fantastic new independent music from around the world. Oh yes, and I’m still talking the usual rubbish too….

Short break in transmission whilst I move file hosts

Monday, February 21st, 2011

Apologies for the unscheduled break so soon after getting going again in 2011. As I mentioned on the show, I’m having to move all 220-plus podcast media files from Libsyn hosting to my own site. As you can imagine, this is not a quick job and it’s tying up my PC & laptop for hours every night.

I’m just over half-way there now, and once that’s done I’ll have to back up my WordPress databases before attempting to replace every single reference to my mp3 file location with the new one!

Keep your fingers crossed that I don’t stuff THAT up :-O

I’l be back as soon as that’s all finished; see you then.

Show 229 – A Local Show for Global People

Tuesday, February 8th, 2011

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

A rare treat this week, with three local bands (from Leith & Edinburgh) featuring. It’s been quite a while since this has happened, and it’s great to see that the local area is still capable of producing excellent new artists. If you’re local, or know anyone local that you’ve not heard on the podcast, give me a shout and I’ll see what I can do.

Show 227 – The Christmas Show 2010

Thursday, December 23rd, 2010

Listen here or use the player on the right, though I’d love you to subscribe !

Here we are again, almost at the end of the year, and it’s time for the legendary Christmas Show! Delayed by a few days due to the late provision of recorded parts from Jasna, I was almost scuppered again when the software crashed right at the end of the 2hr period of recording, and lost everything other than the first three tracks! Fortunately, I’d enjoyed putting it together so much that it wasn’t a hassle to do it again; any excuse to listen to all the tracks one more time:-) So, suck on a sprout, wrap your molars round a mince pie, tickle the turkey and immerse yourself in a fantastic seasonal musical selection box. Enjoy & have a wonderful holiday.

Skid Row – ‘Jingle Bells’

Winzenried aka Hollywood Drunks – ‘We Three Kings’

Cathedral Brass – ‘Joy To The World (Mocean Worker Remix)’

Quiet Company – ‘Do You Hear What I Hear’

Dropkick – ‘I May Never’ / ‘When Santa Comes Round’

The Lancashire Hotpots – ‘Carry You Home’

Natalie McCool – ‘At Christmas Time’

The Pipettes – ‘Santa’s On His Way’

Winzenried aka Hollywood Drunks – ‘It Came Upon A Midnight Clear’

Mahalia Jackson – ‘Silent Night (46Bliss Remix)’

The soundbed was ‘Bluegrass Jingle Bells’ by Carl Vasta
